Taking notes quickly while effectively capturing key information can be challenging, especially when watching videos that present simultaneous visual and auditory streams. Manually taken notes often miss crucial details due to the fast-paced nature of the content, while automatically generated notes fail to incorporate user preferences and discourage active engagement with the content. To address this, we propose an interactive system, NoTeeline, for supporting real-time, personalized notetaking. Given micronotes, NoTeeline automatically expands them into full-fledged notes using a Large Language Model (LLM). The generated notes build on the content of micronotes by adding relevant details while maintaining consistency with the user's writing style. In a within-subjects study (n=12), we found that NoTeeline creates high-quality notes that capture the essence of participant micronotes with 93.2% factual correctness and accurately align with participant writing style (8.33% improvement). Taking notes during lectures is one of the required skills, among many others, that students need (i) to master the topic covered in the lecture, (ii) to actively engage in the learning process with minimal to no distractions, (iii) to retain learned knowledge and skills for a longer time, and (iv) in securing higher letter grades. To learn the role of notetaking in learning undergraduate-level introductory physics courses, we present a comparative study of students' achievement in a mid-terminal exam at a historically black Fayetteville State University (FSU) (i) when students were taught effective notetaking strategies, motivated them to prepare notes and let them use their self-prepared notes in a terminal exam versus (ii) no notetaking scheme was implemented, keeping all other conditions the same. The no-notetaking scheme was used in 4 different sections over a few semesters, and the notetaking scheme was used at the same level of an introductory physics course in 3 different sections in other semesters. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, online lectures have spread rapidly and many students are satisfied with them. However, one challenge remains the loss of concentration due to the lack of students' copresence. Our previous work suggests that presenting 3D characters with appropriate actions has the potential to improve concentration in online lectures. Nevertheless, an effective combination of actions has not yet been identified. In this study, we developed a lecture watching system that presents a 3D virtual classroom using a naked-eye 3D display. The system includes student characters that show copresence with various actions such as nodding, notetaking, and sleeping. An evaluation experiment was conducted with two conditions; (1) student characters perform only positive actions and (2) both positive and negative actions. The results, analyzed using posture and notetaking behavior as key indicators, suggest that the system can help to maintain concentration when the student characters perform both positive and negative actions, rather than only positive ones. Smartphones have become indispensable in modern life, yet navigating complex tasks on mobile devices often remains frustrating. Recent advancements in large multimodal model (LMM)-based mobile agents have demonstrated the ability to perceive and act in mobile environments. However, current approaches face significant limitations: they fall short in addressing real-world human needs, struggle with reasoning-intensive and long-horizon tasks, and lack mechanisms to learn and improve from prior experiences. To overcome these challenges, we introduce Mobile-Agent-E, a hierarchical multi-agent framework capable of self-evolution through past experience. By hierarchical, we mean an explicit separation of high-level planning and low-level action execution. The framework comprises a Manager, responsible for devising overall plans by breaking down complex tasks into subgoals, and four subordinate agents--Perceptor, Operator, Action Reflector, and Notetaker--which handle fine-grained visual perception, immediate action execution, error verification, and information aggregation, respectively. Many meetings require creating a meeting summary to keep everyone up to date. Creating minutes of sufficient quality is however very cognitively demanding. Although we currently possess capable models for both audio speech recognition (ASR) and summarization, their fully automatic use is still problematic. ASR models frequently commit errors when transcribing named entities while the summarization models tend to hallucinate and misinterpret the transcript. We propose a novel tool -- Minuteman -- to enable efficient semi-automatic meeting minuting. The tool provides a live transcript and a live meeting summary to the users, who can edit them in a collaborative manner, enabling correction of ASR errors and imperfect summary points in real time. The resulting application eases the cognitive load of the notetakers and allows them to easily catch up if they missed a part of the meeting due to absence or a lack of focus. We conduct several tests of the application in varied settings, exploring the worthiness of the concept and the possible user strategies.
