This study investigates how Large Language Models (LLMs) are influencing the language of academic papers by tracking 12 LLM-associated terms across six major scholarly databases (Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, PubMed Central (PMC), Dimensions, and OpenAlex) from 2015 to 2024. Using over 2.4 million PMC open-access publications (2021-July 2025), we also analysed full texts to assess changes in the frequency and co-occurrence of these terms before and after ChatGPT's initial public release. Across databases, delve (+1,500%), underscore (+1,000%), and intricate (+700%) had the largest increases between 2022 and 2024. Growth in LLM-term usage was much higher in STEM fields than in social sciences and arts and humanities. In PMC full texts, the proportion of papers using underscore six or more times increased by over 10,000% from 2022 to 2025, followed by intricate (+5,400%) and meticulous (+2,800%). Nearly half of all 2024 PMC papers using any LLM term also included underscore, compared with only 3%-14% of papers before ChatGPT in 2022. Papers using one LLM term are now much more likely to include other terms. For example, in 2024, underscore strongly correlated with pivotal (0.449) a

We investigate the anomalous Nernst effect in epitaxial SrRuO$_3$ thin films grown on c-cut Al$_2$O$_3$ substrates, and in a polycrystalline SrRuO$_3$ slab. Through comprehensive measurements of the transverse thermoelectric response as a function of temperature and magnetic field, we observe a pronounced Nernst signal near $T_c$ in the (111) oriented SrRuO$_3$ thin films. The strong temperature and nontrivial field dependence underscore the pivotal role of the magnetic anisotropy in tuning the Berry curvature and, consequently, the anomalous Nernst effect in SrRuO$_3$.
This paper investigates the vulnerability of discrete-time linear time-invariant systems to stealthy sensor attacks during the learning phase. In particular, we demonstrate that a {data-driven} adversary, without access to the system model, can inject attacks that mislead the operator into learning an {unstable} state-feedback controller. We further analyze attacks that degrade the performance of data-driven ${H}_2$ controllers, while ensuring that the operator can always compute a feasible controller. Potential mitigation strategies are also discussed. Numerical examples illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed attacks and underscore the importance of accounting for adversarial manipulations in data-driven controller design.

Confinement influences fluid properties. We show, employing molecular dynamics simulations with explicit solvents, that slit confinement drives a first-order transition for a small nanoparticle between staying at the slit center and binding to the slit surfaces. The transition follows a subcritical pitchfork bifurcation, accompanying a similar transition of the nanoparticle's lateral diffusion, depending on interparticle interactions and confinement interfaces. Our findings underscore the necessity for advancing molecular hydrodynamics under strong confinement.

We extend the study of gravitational lensing to photons traversing the lens mass, modeled as a uniform-density fluid described by the interior Kottler (Schwarzschild--de Sitter) solution smoothly matched to the exterior Kottler region. An analytic expression for the time delay is derived, allowing the interior contribution to be explicitly isolated relative to the vacuum Kottler case. This correction is found to systematically enhance the total time delay, an effect corroborated by numerical evaluations for astrophysically relevant lenses at both galaxy and cluster scales. These results underscore the importance of accounting for the interior lens structure in accurate modeling of strong lensing time delays.

In this study, a novel deep learning algorithm for object detection, named MelNet, was introduced. MelNet underwent training utilizing the KITTI dataset for object detection. Following 300 training epochs, MelNet attained an mAP (mean average precision) score of 0.732. Additionally, three alternative models -YOLOv5, EfficientDet, and Faster-RCNN-MobileNetv3- were trained on the KITTI dataset and juxtaposed with MelNet for object detection. The outcomes underscore the efficacy of employing transfer learning in certain instances. Notably, preexisting models trained on prominent datasets (e.g., ImageNet, COCO, and Pascal VOC) yield superior results. Another finding underscores the viability of creating a new model tailored to a specific scenario and training it on a specific dataset. This investigation demonstrates that training MelNet exclusively on the KITTI dataset also surpasses EfficientDet after 150 epochs. Consequently, post-training, MelNet's performance closely aligns with that of other pre-trained models.
