Known as “Big Gordon” by colleagues—not least on account of his stature (he was 2 m tall)—Gordon McInnes, whohas died suddenly aged 77,was ahuge figure in the areas of hypertension, strokeprevention, and clinical pharmacology. At a time of landmark discoveries in cardiovascular medicine, he was a gifted academic and a much sought after speaker, who could communicate complex subjects in a memorable way. He had a strong stage presence and could engageaudiences, from time to time illustrating talks with humorous images, such as a bowl of chips captioned “Glasgow salad.” Born in Scotland and working most of his life in Glasgow, McInnes was profoundly aware of the country’s high rates of cardiovascular disease and was among the first to research the connection between deprivation and stroke. A colleague remarked, “A key driver for Gordon was how to improve the lot of people in the west of Scotland.”
In this paper, two higher education researchers – one, an experiencedplay researcher and practitioner; the other an experienced Law researcher whohas more recently engaged with the play literature – present their ideasconcerning what happens, or what could happen when research is envisionedthrough a lens of play. They describehow, drawing on the literature and theories surrounding play and games, theyworked together to identify features that resonated with them as being relevantto research. Through their discussion ofseven resonators (the significance of play, play is voluntary, play challenges, the uncertainty of play, accepting failure, community building and workingwithin constraints) they suggest a playful look at research might encourage a numberof positive changes to research practice and impact. They conclude by invitingreaders to critically examine their claims, and to test them out in thecontexts of their own research environments.@font-face{font-family:SimSun;panose-1:2 1 6 0 3 1 1 1 1 1;mso-font-alt:宋体;mso-font-charset:134;mso-generic-font-family:auto;mso-font-pitch:variable;mso-font-signature:3 680460288 22 0 262145 0;}@font-face{font-family:"Cambria Math";panose-1:2 4

When discussing the life of Burhān al-Dīn al-Biqāʿī (809–85/1406–80), a 15thcentury Quran exegete and historian, modern scholarship has primarily focused on the three controversies in which he became embroiled and which defined the downward trajectory of his later career from 868/1464 until his death in 885/1480. These three controversies were, successively, on the use of the Bible in tafsīr, the poetry of Ibn al-Fāriḍ, and the theodicy of al-Ghazālī.1 The sole exception to this trend has been thework of Li Guo,whohas discussed the role of the autobiographical in al-Biqāʿī’s chronicle, the Iẓhār al-ʿaṣr li-asrār ahl al-ʿaṣr.2 By analyzing al-Biqāʿī’s treatment of three episodes in his life—his infamous divorce case, the harempolitics of his concubines, and thepremature deaths of his children—Guo provides ample insight into how al-Biqāʿī integrated elements from his own life into his salvation history project. Nevertheless, however interesting and insightful Guo’s discussion is—both in terms of what it reveals about al-Biqāʿī’s character and his approach to history writing—all three of these episodes date from after al-Biqāʿī’s establish-
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, also called CPR, is a set of actions taken by conscious and willingindividuals to restore the functions of two vital heart and lung organs and deliver blood and oxygen to thebrain to prevent brain damage. This is an immediate intervention to prevent or delay death in a person whohas suddenly had a cardiopulmonary arrest. About 40 years have passed since the start of cardiopulmonaryresuscitation, so the survival rate is low. Research has shown that about 10 to 15 percent of people surviveafter resuscitation. Cardiac resuscitation is on the rise among hospitalized patients, so these measures andthe factors that contribute to its success are crucial. Our aim is to review the success rate of cardiopulmonaryresuscitation and its associated factors in emergency departments and hospitals. In this review study, keywords such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, cardiopulmonary arrest, emergency, underlying cause, success rate, resuscitation outcome and related factors and search on reputable Google scientific databasesScholar, Pubmed, Web of Science, WHO Web site, Articles and theses published between 1989 and 2019,and finally a number of sources were selected and
Rehabilitation has become one of the keys to health strategy for the 21st Century. Demographic and epidemiological shifting trends to the rise in life expectancy and the growing number of chronic noncommunicablediseases are creating rehabilitation needs. However, the capacity to provide rehabilitation is still limited or non-existent and fails to adequately address the needs of the population. In 2017 WHOhas made a strategy to scale up rehabilitation for greater awareness and advocacy, also increase investment into rehabilitation workforce and infrastructure known as Rehabilitation 2030: A Call for Action. Thereforecountries are called to coordinate and concert global action towards strengthening rehabilitation in health systems, including in Indonesia.

Background: Postoperative shivering (POS) is one of the common problems following general anesthesia and with different unpleasant and stressful consequences for patients. Hence, its proper management is necessary for both prevention and treatment. Objectives: The aim of this study was to find out the prophylactic effect of intravenous dexamethasone in preventing postoperative shivering after general anesthesia. Materials and methods: Patients aged from 20 to 50 years were taken for study whohas been scheduled for elective surgery under general anesthesia and they were randomized into two equal groups. Group I (Dexamethasone group) received intravenous dexamethasone and group II received intravenous saline (Placebo group). Shivering was determined postoperatively and analyzed statistically. Results: Patients who had received intravenous dexamethasone, experienced a significantly lower incidence of postoperative shivering compared to placebo group (15% versus 55%, p<0.05). Conclusions: The result of this study showed that intravenous dexamethasone can reduce postoperative shivering which was significant statistically. KYAMC Journal Vol. 10, No.-2, July 2019, Page 81-84
Introduction: Heart failure is one of the global health problems for society characterized by a high mortalityrate, increased hospitalization and rehospitalization. National Early Warning Score (NEWS) is one whohas the EWS development of physiological parameters include pulse rate, systolic blood pressure (SBP),respiratory rate, body temperature, level of consciousness (AVPU), oxygen saturation and the use ofsupplemental oxygen in the range of 0-3 on each parameterObjective: This study aimed to analyze NEWS effectiveness as a predictor of mortality of heart failurepatients in the Emergency Department (ED)of General Hospital of Dr. Slamet Martodirdjo Pamekasan.Method: This study using observational analytic design with prospective cohort approach. The respondentsin this study were 64 patients in quota sampling. The research instrument is observation sheet. ROC analysisand multivariate used multiple logistic regression testResults: ROC test showed that NEWS has value of p=0.000 and AUC of 0.856 which describes NEWScan be a strong predictor related mortality in heart failure patients with CI of 95%, sensitivity value of 0.85(85%) and specificity of 0.818 (81.8%).
