Complex topological investigation of 19 lower extremities of 10 nonfixed cadavers was conducted to substantiate the isolation possibilities and the variants of application of the foot insular medial flap. Fascio-cutaneous transplant was isolated on the inner foot side in the region of its nonbearing surface. Transposition of the flap on the proximal vascular-nervous pedicle was conducted into the heel region or on the distal vascular pedicle-into the anterior parts of foot with the microneuroraphy of the nerve sensitivity. Transplantation of such a tissue complex permitted to restore the adequate sensitivity and a full value cutaneous cover in the foot region.

It was established in experiment that the sorption properties of siliconorganic sorbent polymethylsiloxan (PMS) dominate significantly over the same of haemosorbent SKN-1K concerning common bilirubin level. It is possible to use PMS for haemosorption in obturating jaundice, viral hepatitis and in haemoperfusion as well.
Erroneous citing of N. V. Eck's paper "The Ligature of the Portal Vein" in R. H. Mead's book "A History of Thoracic Surgery", 1961, was found. Misspelt title of the journal and wrong year of publication in bibliographic description made it impossible to find this paper which became actually the foundation for present-day cardiovascular surgery. We have found the original of this remarkable paper at the Central Scientific Medical Library in Moscow: it was published in Voenno-Meditsinskiĭ Zhurnal, 1877, vol. 130, No 11, pp. 1-2. We should also like to offer some recommendations on improving the medical journals impact factor in this country and abroad.

Repeated operations for focal liver lesions were analyzed. 75 patients with parasitic liver lesions (alveococcosis, echinococcosis), 14 patients with liver tumors, 15 patients with cysts and abscesses were included in the study. For the first time patients underwent palliative operations or diagnostic laparotomy. In some patients relapse was observed after radical surgery in postoperative period. Ultrasound study was the main diagnostic method for detecting localization and extent of the lesion. 91 patients underwent radical surgery, including hemihepatectomy carried out to 26 patients, segmental and bisegmental liver resections carried out to 35 patients. Transparenchymatous Tung ligation was used in liver resections. Resection line was covered by hemostatic sutures according to B.I. Alperovich technique. Intraparenchymatous processing of Glisson pedicle according to E.I. Galperin method was applied in extensive liver resections. Cryodestruction was used for prophylaxis of relapses in parasitic and tumor lesions. Liver failure (4) and bleedings (2) were the most life-threatening postoperative complications. 4 patients died due to liver failure (2) and bleedings (2). Among 97 patients good results were observed in 73 (75,3%) patients, satisfactory - in 22 (22,7%), poor - in 2 (2,1%) with relapse of hepatocellular carcinoma.
