$360^\circ$ videos offer a hyper-immersive experience that allows the viewers to explore a dynamic scene from full 360 degrees. To achieve more user-friendly and personalized content creation in $360^\circ$ video format, we seek to lift standard perspective videos into $360^\circ$ equirectangular videos. To this end, we introduce Imagine360, the first perspective-to-$360^\circ$ video generation framework that creates high-quality $360^\circ$ videos with rich and diverse motion patterns from video anchors. Imagine360 learns fine-grained spherical visual and motion patterns from limited $360^\circ$ video data with several key designs. 1) Firstly we adopt the dual-branch design, including a perspective and a panorama video denoising branch to provide local and global constraints for $360^\circ$ video generation, with motion module and spatial LoRA layers fine-tuned on extended web $360^\circ$ videos. 2) Additionally, an antipodal mask is devised to capture long-range motion dependencies, enhancing the reversed camera motion between antipodal pixels across hemispheres. 3) To handle diverse perspective video inputs, we propose elevation-aware designs that adapt to varying video masking
This is a technical report on the 360-degree panoramic image generation task based on diffusion models. Unlike ordinary 2D images, 360-degree panoramic images capture the entire $360^\circ\times 180^\circ$ field of view. So the rightmost and the leftmost sides of the 360 panoramic image should be continued, which is the main challenge in this field. However, the current diffusion pipeline is not appropriate for generating such a seamless 360-degree panoramic image. To this end, we propose a circular blending strategy on both the denoising and VAE decoding stages to maintain the geometry continuity. Based on this, we present two models for \textbf{Text-to-360-panoramas} and \textbf{Single-Image-to-360-panoramas} tasks. The code has been released as an open-source project at \href{https://github.com/ArcherFMY/SD-T2I-360PanoImage}{https://github.com/ArcherFMY/SD-T2I-360PanoImage} and \href{https://www.modelscope.cn/models/damo/cv_diffusion_text-to-360panorama-image_generation/summary}{ModelScope}

This technical report delves deeper into the different sequence parallel modes behind 360-LLaMA-Factory and discusses our implementation insights.
Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic mucosal inflammatory condition that places patients at increased risk of colorectal cancer. Colonoscopic surveillance remains the gold standard for assessing disease activity, and reporting typically relies on standardised endoscopic scoring metrics. The most widely used is the Mayo Endoscopic Score (MES), with some centres also adopting the Ulcerative Colitis Endoscopic Index of Severity (UCEIS). Both are descriptive assessments of mucosal inflammation (MES: 0 to 3; UCEIS: 0 to 8), where higher values indicate more severe disease. However, computational methods for automatically predicting these scores remain limited, largely due to the lack of publicly available expert-annotated datasets and the absence of robust benchmarking. There is also a significant research gap in generating clinically meaningful descriptions of UC images, despite image captioning being a well-established computer vision task. Variability in endoscopic systems and procedural workflows across centres further highlights the need for multi-centre datasets to ensure algorithmic robustness and generalisability. In this work, we introduce a curated multi-centre, multi-resoluti
Recently, there has been a growing interest in wearable sensors which provides new research perspectives for 360 ° video analysis. However, the lack of 360 ° datasets in literature hinders the research in this field. To bridge this gap, in this paper we propose a novel Egocentric (first-person) 360° Kinetic human activity video dataset (EgoK360). The EgoK360 dataset contains annotations of human activity with different sub-actions, e.g., activity Ping-Pong with four sub-actions which are pickup-ball, hit, bounce-ball and serve. To the best of our knowledge, EgoK360 is the first dataset in the domain of first-person activity recognition with a 360° environmental setup, which will facilitate the egocentric 360 ° video understanding. We provide experimental results and comprehensive analysis of variants of the two-stream network for 360 egocentric activity recognition. The EgoK360 dataset can be downloaded from https://egok360.github.io/.
Due to the ever-rising global incidence rate of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and the lack of effective clinical treatment drugs, elucidating the detailed pathogenesis, seeking novel targets, and developing promising drugs are the top priority for IBD treatment. Here, we demonstrate that the levels of microRNA (miR)-103a were significantly downregulated in the inflamed mucosa of ulcerative colitis (UC) patients, along with elevated inflammatory cytokines (IL-1beta/TNF-alpha) and reduced tight junction protein (Occludin/ZO-1) levels, as compared with healthy control objects. Consistently, miR-103a deficient intestinal epithelial cells Caco-2 showed serious inflammatory responses and increased permeability, and DSS induced more severe colitis in miR-103a-/- mice than wild-type ones. Mechanistic studies unraveled that c-FOS suppressed miR-103a transcription via binding to its promoter, then miR-103a-targeted NF-kappaB activation contributes to inflammatory responses and barrier disruption by targeting TAB2 and TAK1. Notably, the traditional Chinese medicine Cornus officinalis (CO) and its core active ingredient loganin potently mitigated inflammation and barrier disruption in UC by
We propose to explore the potential of physics-informed neural networks (PINNs) in solving a class of partial differential equations (PDEs) used to model the propagation of chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. An unsupervised approach was privileged during the deep neural network training. Given the complexity of the underlying biological system, characterized by intricate feedback loops and limited availability of high-quality data, the aim of this study is to explore the potential of PINNs in solving PDEs. In addition to providing this exploratory assessment, we also aim to emphasize the principles of reproducibility and transparency in our approach, with a specific focus on ensuring the robustness and generalizability through the use of artificial intelligence. We will quantify the relevance of the PINN method with several linear and non-linear PDEs in relation to biology. However, it is important to note that the final solution is dependent on the initial conditions, chosen boundary conditions, and neural network architectures.
Extracting structured clinical information from radiology reports is challenging, especially in low-resource languages. This is pronounced in Crohn's disease, with sparsely represented multi-organ findings. We developed Hierarchical Structured Matching Prediction BERT (HSMP-BERT), a prompt-based model for extraction from Hebrew radiology text. In an administrative database study, we analyzed 9,683 reports from Crohn's patients imaged 2010-2023 across Israeli providers. A subset of 512 reports was radiologist-annotated for findings across six gastrointestinal organs and 15 pathologies, yielding 90 structured labels per subject. Multilabel-stratified split (66% train+validation; 33% test), preserving label prevalence. Performance was evaluated with accuracy, F1, Cohen's $κ$, AUC, PPV, NPV, and recall. On 24 organ-finding combinations with $>$15 positives, HSMP-BERT achieved mean F1 0.83$\pm$0.08 and $κ$ 0.65$\pm$0.17, outperforming the SMP zero-shot baseline (F1 0.49$\pm$0.07, $κ$ 0.06$\pm$0.07) and standard fine-tuning (F1 0.30$\pm$0.27, $κ$ 0.27$\pm$0.34; paired t-test $p < 10^{-7}$). Hierarchical inference cuts runtime 5.1$\times$ vs. traditional inference. Applied to all re
Crohn's disease and intestinal tuberculosis share many overlapping features such as clinical, radiological, endoscopic, and histological features - particularly granulomas, making it challenging to clinically differentiate them. Our research leverages 3D CTE scans, computer vision, and machine learning to improve this differentiation to avoid harmful treatment mismanagement such as unnecessary anti-tuberculosis therapy for Crohn's disease or exacerbation of tuberculosis with immunosuppressants. Our study proposes a novel method to identify radiologist - identified biomarkers such as VF to SF ratio, necrosis, calcifications, comb sign and pulmonary TB to enhance accuracy. We demonstrate the effectiveness by using different ML techniques on the features extracted from these biomarkers, computing SHAP on XGBoost for understanding feature importance towards predictions, and comparing against SOTA methods such as pretrained ResNet and CTFoundation.
Phenotyping is the process of distinguishing groups of patients to identify different types of disease progression. A recent trend employs low-rank matrix and tensor factorization methods for their capability of dealing with multi-modal, heterogeneous, and missing data. Symptom quantification is crucial for understanding patient experiences in inflammatory bowel disease, especially in conditions such as ulcerative colitis (UC). However, patient-reported symptoms are typically noisy, subjective, and significantly more sparse than other data types. For this reason, they are usually not included in phenotyping and other machine learning methods. This paper explores the application of computational phenotyping to leverage Patient-Reported Outcomes (PROs) using a novel supervised coupled matrix-tensor factorization (SCMTF) method, which integrates temporal PROs and temporal labs with static features to predict medication persistence in ulcerative colitis. This is the first tensor-based method that is both supervised and coupled, it is the first application to the UC domain, and the first application to PROs. We use a deep learning framework that makes the model flexible and easy to trai
Wide-baseline panoramic images are frequently used in applications like VR and simulations to minimize capturing labor costs and storage needs. However, synthesizing novel views from these panoramic images in real time remains a significant challenge, especially due to panoramic imagery's high resolution and inherent distortions. Although existing 3D Gaussian splatting (3DGS) methods can produce photo-realistic views under narrow baselines, they often overfit the training views when dealing with wide-baseline panoramic images due to the difficulty in learning precise geometry from sparse 360$^{\circ}$ views. This paper presents \textit{Splatter-360}, a novel end-to-end generalizable 3DGS framework designed to handle wide-baseline panoramic images. Unlike previous approaches, \textit{Splatter-360} performs multi-view matching directly in the spherical domain by constructing a spherical cost volume through a spherical sweep algorithm, enhancing the network's depth perception and geometry estimation. Additionally, we introduce a 3D-aware bi-projection encoder to mitigate the distortions inherent in panoramic images and integrate cross-view attention to improve feature interactions acr
Nowadays, 360° video/image has been increasingly popular and drawn great attention. The spherical viewing range of 360° video/image accounts for huge data, which pose the challenges to 360° video/image processing in solving the bottleneck of storage, transmission, etc. Accordingly, the recent years have witnessed the explosive emergence of works on 360° video/image processing. In this paper, we review the state-of-the-art works on 360° video/image processing from the aspects of perception, assessment and compression. First, this paper reviews both datasets and visual attention modelling approaches for 360° video/image. Second, we survey the related works on both subjective and objective visual quality assessment (VQA) of 360° video/image. Third, we overview the compression approaches for 360° video/image, which either utilize the spherical characteristics or visual attention models. Finally, we summarize this overview paper and outlook the future research trends on 360° video/image processing.
Recent implicit neural representations have shown great results for novel view synthesis. However, existing methods require expensive per-scene optimization from many views hence limiting their application to real-world unbounded urban settings where the objects of interest or backgrounds are observed from very few views. To mitigate this challenge, we introduce a new approach called NeO 360, Neural fields for sparse view synthesis of outdoor scenes. NeO 360 is a generalizable method that reconstructs 360° scenes from a single or a few posed RGB images. The essence of our approach is in capturing the distribution of complex real-world outdoor 3D scenes and using a hybrid image-conditional triplanar representation that can be queried from any world point. Our representation combines the best of both voxel-based and bird's-eye-view (BEV) representations and is more effective and expressive than each. NeO 360's representation allows us to learn from a large collection of unbounded 3D scenes while offering generalizability to new views and novel scenes from as few as a single image during inference. We demonstrate our approach on the proposed challenging 360° unbounded dataset, called
Colon cancer is a prevalent gastrointestinal malignancy arising in the colon. Ulcerative colitis(UC) is one of the risk factors of colorectal cancer. The detection of under-expressed biomarkers and molecular mechanisms in UC and colon cancer can lead to effective management of colitis-associated cancer. A total of two mRNA expression datasets (GSE87473 and GSE44076) were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. GEO2R was used to screen differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between extensive ulcerative colitis samples and healthy samples, limited ulcerative colitis samples and healthy samples, and colon cancer samples and healthy samples. In extensive ulcerative colitis, limited ulcerative colitis and colon cancer groups, 95,69 and 635 under-expressed genes with adjusted p-value<0.05 and log(2) fold change<-2 were detected respectively. Using Cytoscape software, the genes with degree> 15 including CLCA1, SLC26A3, SI, KIT, HPGDS, NR1H4, ADIPOQ, PPARGC1A, GCG, MS4A12, GUCA2A and FABP1 were screened as hub under-expressed genes in colon cancer. In extensive ulcerative colitis, the genes with degree>5 including ABCB1, ABCG2, UGT1A6, CYP2B6 and AQP8 were id
This letter presents a 360° phase detector cell for performing phase-shift measurements on multiple output systems. An analog phase detector, capable of detecting a maximum range of {\pm}90°, has been used to perform a double multiplication of two signals, both in-phase and phase-shifted. The proposed solution broadens the frequency range beyond other solutions that require to fulfill the quadrature condition. Subsequently, the possibility of reaching the theoretical limit of phase shift within a hybrid coupler (Φ < 90° {\pm} 90°) is discussed by using four straight-line equations to characterize the phase detector response. The proposed solution allows to extend up to 360° the phase detection range and provide an increased immunity with respect to both impedance mismatching and phase deviations within the hybrid coupler. To demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed design, a phase detector cell prototype has been implemented using a commercial hybrid coupler with a phase shift of 92.5° {\pm} 0.5° at 3.1-5.9 GHz, an external switch and a microcontroller with 2 kB of memory. Measurements show a range of detection of 360° ({\pm}180°) across the tested frequency band of 2.7-6 GHz
The development of methods to estimate the severity of Ulcerative Colitis (UC) is of significant importance. However, these methods often suffer from domain shifts caused by differences in imaging devices and clinical settings across hospitals. Although several domain adaptation methods have been proposed to address domain shift, they still struggle with the lack of supervision in the target domain or the high cost of annotation. To overcome these challenges, we propose a novel Weakly Supervised Domain Adaptation method that leverages patient-level diagnostic results, which are routinely recorded in UC diagnosis, as weak supervision in the target domain. The proposed method aligns class-wise distributions across domains using Shared Aggregation Tokens and a Max-Severity Triplet Loss, which leverages the characteristic that patient-level diagnoses are determined by the most severe region within each patient. Experimental results demonstrate that our method outperforms comparative DA approaches, improving UC severity estimation in a domain-shifted setting.
Depth estimation from a monocular 360 image is important to the perception of the entire 3D environment. However, the inherent distortion and large field of view (FoV) in 360 images pose great challenges for this task. To this end, existing mainstream solutions typically introduce additional perspective-based 360 representations ({e.g., Cubemap) to achieve effective feature extraction. Nevertheless, regardless of the introduced representations, they eventually need to be unified into the equirectangular projection (ERP) format for the subsequent depth estimation, which inevitably reintroduces the troublesome distortions. In this work, we propose an oriented distortion-aware Gabor Fusion framework (PGFuse) to address the above challenges. First, we introduce Gabor filters that analyze texture in the frequency domain, thereby extending the receptive fields and enhancing depth cues. To address the reintroduced distortions, we design a linear latitude-aware distortion representation method to generate customized, distortion-aware Gabor filters (PanoGabor filters). Furthermore, we design a channel-wise and spatial-wise unidirectional fusion module (CS-UFM) that integrates the proposed P
Objective: Ulcerative colitis (UC), characterized by chronic inflammation with alternating remission-relapse cycles, requires precise histological healing (HH) evaluation to improve clinical outcomes. To overcome the limitations of annotation-intensive deep learning methods and suboptimal multi-instance learning (MIL) in HH prediction, we propose VIGIL, the first vision-language guided MIL framework integrating white light endoscopy (WLE) and endocytoscopy (EC). Methods:VIGIL begins with a dual-branch MIL module KS-MIL based on top-K typical frames selection and similarity metric adaptive learning to learn relationships among frame features effectively. By integrating the diagnostic report text and specially designed multi-level alignment and supervision between image-text pairs, VIGIL establishes joint image-text guidance during training to capture richer disease-related semantic information. Furthermore, VIGIL employs a multi-modal masked relation fusion (MMRF) strategy to uncover the latent diagnostic correlations of two endoscopic image representations. Results:Comprehensive experiments on a real-world clinical dataset demonstrate VIGIL's superior performance, achieving 92.69\%
Selective interleukin-23 receptor antagonists (IL-23RA) show promise for treating moderate to severe ulcerative colitis (UC) but their efficacy and safety are not fully understood. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials comparing IL-23RA with placebo in moderate to severe UC. Outcomes included clinical and endoscopic remission, response rates, and adverse events. Nine trials including 3808 patients in the induction phase and 1734 in the maintenance phase were analyzed. IL-23RA improved clinical remission (induction risk ratio 2.63, 95 percent confidence interval 2.05-3.36; maintenance 1.99, 95 percent confidence interval 1.63-2.44) and endoscopic remission (induction 2.36, 95 percent confidence interval 1.70-2.20; maintenance 1.96, 95 percent confidence interval 1.63-2.37). IL-23RA reduced serious adverse events in the induction phase (0.40, 95 percent confidence interval 0.27-0.69) with no difference during maintenance (0.75, 95 percent confidence interval 0.31-1.84). No significant differences were observed in overall adverse events or specific events such as headache or nasopharyngitis. Trial sequential analysis confirmed sufficient sa
Histologic assessment of ulcerative colitis (UC) activity is an important endpoint in clinical trials and routine care, but manual grading with indices such as the Nancy histological index (NHI) is time-consuming and prone to observer variability. While computational pathology methods can automate scoring, many approaches depend on dense region-level annotations, which are costly to obtain, particularly in heterogeneous, multicenter cohorts. We propose a weakly supervised multiple instance learning (MIL) approach for whole-slide images that learns from case- and slide-level NHI labels, leveraging foundation models. Our method targets clinically relevant endpoints, including neutrophilic activity and derived Nancy-low/high groupings, enabling full five-grade NHI prediction. On a multicenter dataset of H&E-stained colon biopsies from three hospitals (2019-2025), we evaluate multiple foundation model encoders and aggregation strategies. We find that foundation model choice and resolution substantially affect performance, with Virchow2 providing the most consistent gains, and that a simple ensembling rule improves five-grade NHI prediction compared to a hierarchical gating baseline
