[Current view on the diagnosis of metamorphopsia in macular pathology].

This review addresses the current state of quantitative assessment of metamorphopsia. The article briefly describes the main symptoms of macular pathology as well as diseases associated with the development of metamorphopsia, defines the concept of metamorphopsia, and outlines different approaches to its classification. A substantial part of the review focuses on diagnostic methods for metamorphopsia, particularly the most widely used techniques for its quantitative evaluation. In addition, the work analyzes the main advantages and limitations inherent to these methods. It is substantiated that no optimal method for the quantitative assessment of metamorphopsia currently exists. В обзоре освещается современное состояние вопроса количественной оценки метаморфопсий. Кратко описаны основные симптомы макулярной патологии, а также заболевания, сопровождающиеся возникновением метаморфопсии. В статье описывается понятие метаморфопсии и различные подходы к ее классификации. Значительная часть обзора посвящена методам диагностики метаморфопсий. В частности, рассмотрены наиболее широко используемые методы количественной оценки метаморфопсий. Кроме того, проанализированы основные преимущества и ограничения, присущие этим методам. Было обосновано, что на данный момент не существует оптимального метода количественной оценки метаморфопсий.
